A First for Everything

So last Friday night we ventured out with Dan and Lana -- and by venture out, I mean we drove 2 minutes down the road to Club Hill on base to play some pool. We had never gone there, but it turned out to be quite an evening. Played a little pool... the guys played some darts... and then the unthinkable happened. Tony sang karaoke. Wind of Change by the Scorpions. Dan sang with him, and it was quite possibly the funniest thing ever! I took a video on my phone, but it didn't turn out well at all. Wish you all could've heard this display of fine vocal stylings. :)

At least I got some pictures from the night:

I'm not sure what he was doing here... just being Tony I guess. :)

Table Scratch!

Tony saying he was sorry for almost hitting Lana. haha

Tony and Dan singing their little hearts out.

Valentine's Day Fun

Tony and I aren't really huge on Valentine's Day, but we did celebrate a bit ---

I had to work so Tony got up with me that morning and made me breakfast. I think this may have been the first time he cooked breakfast all by himself. Bacon and eggs. Can't beat that. :)

I went to work and of course the kids were INSANE! All they cared about was getting candy and valentine's from their classmates. I got a gift from a student:

I came home from work to a beautiful rose and a "homemade" card from Tony. He didn't know where all of our vases were so he used a beer mug. haha :)
I made a card for him too.

Instead of going out to eat, we decided to make dinner together. We had to drive all over trying to find a grocery store that carried rack of lamb, but we eventually found it. We made roasted rack of lamb, roasted potatoes and glazed carrots. I could eat this everyday. We also had a yummy chocolate pie for dessert.

We also got some fun mail. A card from Mom and Jerry with some yummy chocolate that was devoured within a week, and a cute Valentine and chocolate mustaches from Sid, Kinz and Deacon.

Tony started eating his before we took the picture. he-he :)

Some random pics from my phone

Warning: these are incredibly random pictures that you probably won't care about.

Tony didn't have to shave for like a week awhile back.

This is his creepy picture... I wish you could see the mustache a bit better.

We had skyline one night. Thanks Twin!! It was so delicious. :)

Made steak and salad with a lemon vinaigrette.

Tony with his new WARM fleece hat and his EPs. Goofball.

This is from yesterday... Tony helping another coworker with stuff.

This is what I did while they were busy working...
Cookies (once again.)

and Tuna Noodle Casserole. This stuff is so delicious.

It's About Time...

OK... So I have COMPLETELY neglected the blog. I wish I had some great excuse, but I don't. We just haven't done anything that I deemed "blogworthy" ....

I'll give a slight recap though...

We went snowboarding with Dan and Lana. Didn't take any pictures because I was too busy being overly frustrated with my lack of shredding skills. Tony, however, did a great job. *Jealous*

I have, of course, cooked some yummy stuff...
Grandma's Pumpkin Roll (once I take a bite I'm reminded of her and it makes me smile)
I'm sure cookies can be thrown into this mix.
Chinese Chicken Lettuce Wraps (I could literally eat this everyday!)
Spicy Chicken Stir-Fry and Rice
Cheesy Bacon Potato Soup
This is all I can remember at this moment. My memory stinks.

We spent last weekend at a coworker's house so Tony could install a remote starter. This was an all weekend event.... and it was FREEZING outside! I spent my time playing with their dogs (a doberman and a sharpei) and writing out 300 flashcards for Tony so he can study for his CDC test coming up. (I'm such a loving wife, don't you think?!)

Work for me is going fine. We started our rehearsals for the Spring musical. It's called Honk! Jr. ... the story of the ugly duckling. I'm excited to be just the vocal director for the musical... even though I wake up every morning with strange musical songs stuck in my head. Oh well. :)
I'm looking into finding a new job for next year. Hoping for a full-time choir position. I've also decided I'm going back to school in the Fall. I found a great online program at University of Nebraska at Kearney that offers the same classes I was taking at Miami. Only difference is this is a Master of Arts in Education with Music Specialization. Either way, I'm really excited about going back to school. I just hope they will accept my credits from Miami!

OK... I just realized how long this post is so I'm going to stop typing. I also don't feel like proofreading. :)

Lots of love-
Chels
