Project #2

After making the pillows, I decided I wanted to step up my game a bit and go with a wristlet. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's like a mini-purse.... just big enough to hold what we actually need to carry with us. :)

I found some really pretty floral print that went perfectly with this dark teal fabric... I also got some lavender piping...

Here's the finished product!

I plan on making a lot more to perfect it... if you want one, let me know! :)

First project!

Made some new pillows for the couch since ours were looking pretty bad....

I couldn't find the mustard yellow color that I wanted, so I got this really cool green fabric.
I like it.

This is going to be sew much fun!!

OK... that was really nerdy. I'm just SUPER excited about my new toy! A Husqvarna Viking Emerald 116 sewing machine. We bought it yesterday and played around on it last night... I really have no clue what I'm doing when it comes to sewing, however, when you have a mother who has been sewing her own clothes since she was a kid, it's gotta be in me somewhere, right?! I sure hope so. :) I at least figured out how to thread it without the help of the manual (GO, ME!) and I threaded the bobbins too... Cut up a t-shirt just to mess around with. It was fun. :)

Here's a pic of my machine...

For my first project I'm going to attempt to make a roll-up pouch for all of Tony's wrenches. Quite honestly, I have no idea how I'm going to do this, but I've got the material, scissors, and thread to make a go of it! I'll post a picture as soon as it's done... but only if it looks decent. he-he :)

Tony works SO MUCH

Most of you probably know that the Air Force is working Tony like a dog with this 6-7 days a week, 12-hour shift nonsense. This results in EXTREMELY boring weekends for me. I have to find things to keep me busy or else I'll end up sitting on the couch watching marathons of stupid shows like America's Next Top Model.

Luckily, I had a few things to do this past weekend.

I was asked to doggy-sit for Dan and Lana's pup, Yogi, while they went to Vegas to celebrate Lana's 21st birthday. He was a nice change of pace. We played fetch for hours. :)

I finished crocheting my scarf. This is a picture of it halfway done. Not bad, if I say so myself. :)

I made some yummy food. A pasta dish with eggplant, tomato, basil, crushed red pepper, balsamic vinegar, olive oil and parmesan cheese. Oh... and I put bacon on top. DELICIOUS!
And finally, last night, Tony and I made a homemade pizza for dinner. SO much better than ordering it from somewhere! Turned out great with my pizza stone I took from Mom's house years ago. haha :) (Thanks, Ma!)
